Baseball Ranked Ninth in Final CCCBCA Rankings
By Jimmy Friery
After reaching the final game of the 3C2A SoCal Regional Final against No. 1 Palomar, it is only fitting that the Vaqueros end the season selected among the top 10 programs in the state. In the final CCCBCA Home Run 30 Rankings, they were ranked ninth—the highest of all Western State Conference (WSC) North teams.
Santa Barbara City College Baseball (29-18, 18-6) won the opening Riverside Regional before sweeping fellow WSC North foe Hancock in the Super Regional as part of a 6-3 postseason run. The Vaqueros were one game away from the State Tournament, but settled for what was essentially a state quarterfinal appearance. With previous postseason formats to consider, the 2026 Vaqueros made arguably the deepest run in program history.
Of all of the 30 ranked teams, Santa Barbara had the highest jump (18 spots) from the penultimate CCCBCA Rankings. Read the full list and article here.
